The Festival 2009 - "Handel in London"
The 2009 Pacific Baroque Festival was a great success. I can't tell you what a wonderful evening it was last night! I enjoyed every moment of the concert! The combination of the Pacific Baroque Orchestra + St. Christopher's Singers + Victoria Children's Choir was unbelievable. The performance was articulate and powerful! You moved the audience to a thunderous standing ovation!
ReplyDeleteI am sending you my congratulations on an absolutely superb PBO Festival this past weekend. I enjoyed every second of Friday and Saturday. My husband was also blown
ReplyDeleteaway by everything last night and was especially impressed with the kids and their wonderful singing and professionalism.
We are already looking forward to next year
What a wonderful set of concerts the “Handel in London” festival was! A rare treat with style and energy! The singing and playing was absolutely superb. Such a festival as an annual event will do much to enrich the musical life of Victoria. More, please....!
ReplyDeleteMadeleine Humer is a genius at bringing passion, musicality and powerful sound out of young singers. Put her in front of any group of children who love to sing and she will turn them into prefessional-level performing artists who sparkle with joy and excitement.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks and blessings to Madeleine and Brian Humer for their hard work and enthusiasm! We need to see more of these recording quality events in Victoria!
ReplyDeleteGood morning,
ReplyDeleteI am putting together a bulletin board for the Music Library here at the College of William and Mary in Virginia to celebrate Handel 2009. Professor Ruth van Baak Griffioen is teaching a freshman seminar called The Music of Handel.
I would love to present on the bulletin board displays of 2009 Handel festivals and celebrations around the world. Do you have any material such as play bills, posters, or concert programs you could send? Anything however small would be most appreciated.
Best regards,
Diane Dudley
